Our recommendation is to get as much power processor, video card, and memory for your systems as you can afford. Connection to Internet and email is recommended for installation, support, and updates.

CNC Software continues to review the operating system OS requirements for Mastercam with a goal of providing the best possible user experience for our customers. We recommend using Windows 10 version 20H2 or later or later bit Professional editions. While Mastercam may run on other Windows editions such as Home Edition or virtual environments such as Parallels for Mac , it has not been tested on these configurations and is therefore not supported.

Which is how I did the sample in the picture. Typically I go to tools, sketch entities and then use text to do this. But I do not like the block style letters I get. Problem is it is not recognized when I try to project it onto the surface with mastercam. But for some reason I cannot select the OLF sans font as a curve. Does anyone have a simple solution?

OpenCL is required for Mastercam to be able to hand off certain computation tasks to the graphics card to increase system performance.

Make sure you are using up-to-date drivers from your card manufacturer.

We often see issues that are resolved with updated video drivers. The driver version can have a great impact on how the card performs. Most of our internal systems utilize dual monitors and we find this to be a more productive setup. Mastercam displays on the primary monitor while applications such as Mastercam Simulator, Code Expert, or Tool Manager display on the secondary monitor.

But I learned how to program long hand at the machine and I prefer to still do that if possible.

I got really spoiled with a HAAS on the programing end of it because of how user friendly it is. We have three Haas where I am at now but I never get a chance to run them. If your using Mastercam for Solidworks , go into the Mastercam toolpath utilities tab, there is a function to create letters.

It uses the same fonts as standalone Mastercam and it is a Mastercam function not Solidworks. It will just ask you to pick a sketch plane. Draw your letters. Then contour like you would normally but select the sketch. You can then use a projected toolpath on the face you want the engraving.
